effective and kind of cute by Emily RavenwoodI've had this out for about two weeks now, and have found it effective even when we had a second influx of infested fruit. It doesn't work instantly, of course, this is chemistry not magic, but after twenty-four hours you should see steadily fewer fruit flies. This, always provided that what you have are actually fruit flies and not gnats. Do be aware the fruit flies will congregate around the trap for a while.
I also find the trap itself kind of cute. It's a little plastic apple, which doesn't do a thing to "fool" the flies of course, but makes it slightly less jarring to have sitting around the kitchen.
