Terro Liquid Ant Baits, the one that works for fire ants! by S. Le
At first I tried the better known Raid brand products. Raid kills bugs dead, right? Nope, no dice, at least not for fire ants. Fire ants seemed to always pass up the Raid baits like they were never there. I'm sure Raid baits are toxic to ants, but not if the ants never eat them! The ants never were attracted to the Raid baits. In my desperation I tried both the Raid Ant Baits and the Raid Double Control Ant Bait with no results. I had enough with Raid and had to try something new.

On my next trip to the grocery store I thought I would try something totally new and unique. I spotted the Terror liquid ant baits. I never heard of the brand before and they were the only baits that were really different; they were a liquid and they worked! The fire ants lined up to take the bait and went home to share the poison. I was so glad I finally found bait the ants would take.

A little bit about the design: the packaging is clear plastic, so you can see the ants going into the bait and using it. I like that. The only thing I don't like about the Terro liquid ant bait is that you have to cut open the bait yourself. When you cut open the bait, the cut forms a little entrance ramp for the ants to access the liquid poison. If you cut the bait open poorly there is a chance you could make a hard to use access ramp, but with how determined fire ants are I'm not sure that would mater. Also, because the bait is a liquid you can spill it. It's pretty thick so it doesn't flow quickly, but if you're not careful the liquid can get out.

Overall, great product. I never heard of Terro before, but I am sold on these ant baits. If you are having problems with fire ants, give these Terro liquid ant baits a try. If that doesn't work, better call the exterminator.
